Meet the Agent: Keri Wilfong

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Keri Wilfong, a Realtor and Broker at Nest Realty Shenandoah Valley.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to the Shenandoah Valley? Keri Wilfong: Born and raised in Waynesboro, VA, I left the area after high school for about 10 years, living in San Diego, CA, Chapel Hill, NC and Richmond, VA. Graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Economics. Married to my high school sweetheart, Wil, we have two sons, Jaxon and Nicolaus and a yellow lab, named Rebel.

NR: How did you get into real estate? KW: My family owned a commercial warehousing business and needed a Realtor on staff to handle leases and acquisitions. I happily accepted the challenge!

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate? KW: Former CFO in the credit union industry. Numbers and bottom lines gave me a great foundation for negotiation and understanding the financial components of a transaction.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage? KW: Their reputation, availability of service and tools and most importantly, the philosophy of putting the client first.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent? KW: Helping others, not just with the purchase or sale, but with all facets that go along with buying/selling a property. Giving them a comfort level and making their largest purchase of their life an enjoyable experience.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients? KW: I’m a native of the Shenandoah Valley who explored other areas of the US and chose to return here to raise my family. I hope that speaks volumes to how I feel about living in the area.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart? KW: The attention I give my clients. My goal is to make each client feel as though they are my only client throughout their transaction time. I manage my inventory and client load to offer full dedication and direct availability to each person I am currently working with.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you? KW: Hard working, happy, approachable, loyal and kind hearted.

NR: Who would be your dream client? KW: First time home buyers. Helping people achieve “the American dream” for the first time is so special and rewarding.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be? KW: Ask lots of questions! Home buying is a complicated process, even for those who have done it multiple times, so don’t feel as though any questions are silly. Asking questions is the best way to educate yourself about the process.

NR: What is your favorite season in the Shenandoah Valley? KW: Fall, the mountains are breathtaking when the leaves change. We live a beautiful place!
