We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will, too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.
In this installment, we chat with Charlie Jackson, a Nest Realtor in Shenandoah Valley.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area? How long have you lived here? Charlie Jackson: I have lived in Harrisonburg since I arrived as a student at JMU in 2015. I enjoy reading, weekend adventures, and live sports!
NR: If you are new to real estate? what was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate? CJ: I was a 8th Grade English teacher and Summer Camp director for the past 2.5 years. While I enjoyed teaching in local schools, I wanted to bring more people to the Shenandoah Valley. My goal is to educate and advocate for all clients to give them the best home buying/selling experiences possible!
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage? CJ: I first heard about Nest through Chris Rooker, and the positive home buying experiences that my friends have had through him. I have found Nest agents to be professional and approachable while staying ahead of the curve on market trends, technology, etc.,
NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent? CJ: As an agent, I think that I can provide a home buying/selling experience that you can’t get elsewhere. I think I will be a draw to younger buyers and a guide for people who are newer to the area.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients? CJ: As a guide in the buying/selling process, I think I can explain things well and walk people through tricky decisions.
NR: What are five adjectives to describe you? CJ: Eager, Creative, Passionate, Empathetic, and Fun
NR: Who would be your dream client? CJ: Jason Kelce
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be? CJ: Be patient! If you are not in a bind, it is better to be patient and opportunistic with what’s available than snappy and desperate.
NR: What’s your favorite season? Why? CJ: I enjoy the winter because I love snow, hot chocolate, and the holidays.
—From a teacher in the classroom to an agent in the marketplace, Charlie desires to help people make informed choices about big decisions.
